[09/23] Sharing Stories and BBQ: A Day with Veterans at River Crossing of Peoria

This weekend, The Resilience Project had the privilege of gathering with some of our nation’s heroes over a delicious BBQ, thanks to @missionbbq, at River Crossing of Peoria. Sitting side-by-side with veterans from World War II and Vietnam was a humbling experience, as we shared stories, laughs, and a shared appreciation for their service and resilience.

These moments—where generations connect over memories and meals—are what TRP is all about. We’re incredibly grateful to our team members @drakescott113, @savannah_bushman12, and @sorensencj1985 for dedicating part of their Saturday to make this gathering possible. Their commitment to honoring our veterans is at the heart of what we do.

Thank you to everyone involved in making this a meaningful day, and to all the veterans who shared a piece of their history with us. These conversations and connections inspire us to continue building a community where veterans can feel celebrated, supported, and never alone.
